Perim Associates recently worked with the Government of Tanzania and the Tanzanian Investment Centre (TIC) to help recruit innovative U.S.-based companies to a private investment information event in Washington, D.C., and other meetings with the President of Tanzania and five Tanzanian Ministers. The Tanzanian government requested our help in the late stages of prep, to diversify their U.S. outreach base beyond “mega brands” to include smaller, fast growing pioneers in renewables technology, and companies with innovative offerings in healthcare and education, which were also specifically interested in Africa, or which already had a presence in East Africa. We also helped promote Tanzania, via mainstream media and targeted outreach, as one of the countries in the region genuinely committed to attracting and facilitating U.S. investment in-country. In addition, we assisted with outreach to major media outlets and high-profile journalists with interest in Africa and U.S.-Africa relations.
