Fighting Diabetic Retinopathy With EyePACS

Perim Associates is the Middle East-Africa implementation partner for EyePACS.com, a California-based medical technology company addressing the problem of retinopathy (“DR”), a common complication of diabetes that is typically asymptomatic and results in the loss of sight if untreated.

With the EyePACS software, patient record management system & quality control process, diabetes centers and polyclinics are able to screen large numbers of patients for DR (and increasingly, other illnesses) with a high degree of accuracy, and to determine which cases need urgent laser surgery. EyePACS is one of the most sophisticated systems on the market, and is constantly evolving with improved algorithms developed in partnership with both MIT and Google.
